Living in Costa Rica

Have you ever had an epiphany? An awakening? I did during my wife’s illness. I was laying beside her in her hospital bed thinking what am I going to do if she dies? Simultaneously she wakes up and says: I do not want you to be lonely. I want you to do things we thought we would do together. The things we talked about: go on a cruise ,buy a full dress Harley and travel the country. Find another woman to enjoy your life with.

It was frightening, it was as if she was reading my teary eyes. She had searched my inner feelings and answered my question. I promised her I would do my best to enjoy life and it seemed to lift a boulder off her shoulders. Here is a deathly ill wife and she was more concerned about my well-being. It was in character with her life: giving, generous and loving woman.

My wife passed away three days later. I made arrangements at the funeral home and that same day bought a full dress Harley and began a new life.I did what my wife asked. I live in Costa Rica enjoying Pura Vida. I write everyday and look for the best in Life. She is a tough act to follow. I wish she was here enjoying the fruits of her labor. I miss her dearly.

With her permission I have written ten books. The first three are dedicated to my wife. I wrote four travel books with pictures and poetry. The last few years I wrote three more books. My last book to come out soon is a picture-poetry book: “Travels With the Wild man 4″. It is about my fishing adventures on the west coast.  My last poetry book,” Poems From Costa Rica”: I  show you what it is like living in Costa Rica.

I hope you will give my poetry a read and feel what I feel as I write.
