Early Morning Rain

The  rain lightly taps on the tin roof and the gutters does it’s early morning dance. As the rain cascades onto the side walk down the hill to the bubbling river. It’s little waterfalls playing its music a little louder than usual this morning. I was pleasantly awakened at three a.m. This freshly grown Sunday morning. Rain is broadcasted for all day.

Maybe I will discontinue my boycott of the NFL today. I got tired of the rich cry baby athletes wanting to give their opinion of the national affairs. Millionaire playboys who think I care what they think. All I want is to see excellent all out play.

The smells of Costa Rica are vibrant today. Even in the darkness of dawn, the colors are vibrant, alive. The greens seem brighter and the flowers perky and bright. That bristly of the leaves  in the trees are calming. The rain kept the rooster quiet and no cackling of the hens. There are no dogs barking or cats meowing. I wonder if that is a sign for heavy rain approaching? A solitary bird adventuring a song in the rain.

I have the front door open, with the screen bending to the wind and a window open in the den. Feeling a cool breeze throughout the house. Comfortable as darkness relinquishes to daylight. I watch the palm tree sway with the wind. The branches softly brushing the fresh air. It is a beautiful rainy morning. Calm, almost serene relaxing every fiber of your being. Good morning and welcome to Guanacaste,Costa Rica.

Pura Vida!

After a storm, the sun peeks between the clouds
As if God is shouting out loud
“Play in the Forrest amongst my trees”
“On my fields so green”

“Smell my flowers of different colors”
“Where my bees love to hover”
“Thank me for your seven senses”
“That my world enhances”

The sky clears from gray to bright blue
As a rainbow shines through
Bright red, orange, blue and green
Costa Rica colors so clear and clean

I love the smell after the rain
I sit in awe and pray
“Thank you for this day”
“Thank you for this time to play”

I walk my dogs and smell nature
The purity of our adventure
Nowhere have I found
The quality of nature abound
