Hi everyone! I have been on a forced sabbatical the last two months. I moved into my Cabina in San Luis Costa Rica and had no electricity for two months. Please forgive me for my absence, but there was so much todo; it was hard to get to town to sit and write. I waited for the electricity to be put in. It is easy to get lost in the Lake Arenal area. I sit in front of the sliding glass doors without a care in the world and write. My view is the entire thirty-two kilometer lake with beautiful foliage to enhance my view.
I have had a lot of time to write and have finally published The Chameleon Returns. It is available at litfirefirepublishing .com, Under TM Nugent- Author. I also have two more books I need to correct before I send them to the publisher. I hope everyone is well in readerland and are interested in one of my books. I have published twelve books with Xlibris publishing.com and litfirefirepublishing.com.
I hope you enjoy my excerpt from my new book below.
The Chameleon Returns:
“She must have been proud of you, Jack,” Says an interested Harry.
“I hope so, she paid for a railroad ticket to see me graduate from West Point,” Says Jack.
Everyone enjoyed the museum, and it is getting late. They head to the hotel and survey the land as they go by; they see the Perot Museum of Natural Science, And the American Airlines Center. Lucky makes a mental note to see the Museum before they leave. Lucky would like to see the city center of Dallas, but cannot believe the prices. I thought Texas was inexpensive to live, but for tourist to vacation here cost a fortune to visit the City Center considers Lucky. I have a lot of money, but who do I have to prove myself. Hmmm, no one, as Lucky enters the hotel that gave the publisher a deal on four rooms. Under three hundred dollars a place compared to fifteen hundred in the City Center of Dallas. Lucky, Carla, Jack, and Jazz are in a double bedroom, Charlie, Claire, and Sue in another, while Harry is solo.
Carla and Jazz decide to have a massage while Lucky and Jack opt for the pool as Harry joins them. Sue needs to plan the first bookstore, The Lucky Dog; it will be a no-frills signing in a half- price- giveaway bookstore. Lucky does not expect much at this store and is he in for a surprise.
How busy can it be on a Friday?”Thinks Lucky as he sips on his margarita.
“We cannot be too complacent here in Texas, we had a lot of dealings stopping drugs and murders and Mexico is a hop and a skip away. We may have some difficulty here,” Says Lucky.
No sooner did Lucky stop talking when a large man enters the pool area. He is a Mexican of means,
“My name is Carlos Compos; I am here to tell you, you have nothing to fear from the cartel conglomerate in Mexico. We wish not to continue a war with you. My bosses have agreed to let the past go. “Do you agree?”
