I love mornings after our rain storm. The cloud formations make my imagination fly. The sun rises slowly over the eastern skies and sometimes succumb to the clouds and only the red outline appears. During the course of the early morning white-gray storm clouds appear. I like watching animals form in the clouds.

I remember when I was ten years old laying on our lawn my Father was proud of and challenging my sister to find more animals than I. Did you play those kind of games as kids? Sometimes in our mighty windstorms on the mountain in San Luis, Costa Rica we can see animals form on the trees limbs and leaves. One night as the sunset begins the shadows hit the trees as the monsters appeared. Large dog that looked like it would lunge down from our tallest tree as the wind blew furiously as my girlfriend would look for more. Off in a distance she saw a Horst gallopping away from a wolf and a snake attacking a bird. My, How our imaginations would fly.

I remember as a six year old I was afraid to go into my closet at night. The moon would shine off the trees and make a figure that looks like a monster. I would not sleep, but hide under my covers. My Dad came in to check on me and asked if I was alright. I said the monster wanted to eat me. We had watched a movie called Them about giant ants attacking humans. My Dad lowers the blinds and the monster disappeared for another day.

Have you had experiences where you imagination got the better of you. To this day I do not like walking in the darkest area without a flash light. I love great movies like Wait Until Dark that Let shades, sounds, and sudden movements in the dark that scares the heck out of you. I hope my books make your imagination fly or wish you could take such an adventure. Summertime is a good time to stack new books for your vacation. Check out my bookstores below and happy reading.

The Walk
We live on a mountain top
Over looking God’s new crop
Red, yellow, orange and purple
Green and pink to be more subtle
In his wisdom he enthused
Blue skies as our morning muse
Walking down the brick laden driveway

Watching the dogs as they play
Realizing the draw of the cards
How lucky we truly are
Fresh air, a subtle quiet
A peacefulness I have become reliant
LaLa and LuLu chase after a lizard
Who disappears like a magical wizard
Frustrated at their loss
They dig at the bright green moss
Searching for their prize
That disappeared before their eyes
I continue to walk towards the gate
I whistle, they run to me at a furious rate
I stop and turn around
They sit at my feet making me proud
