Pura Vida!

Pura Vida! 7F3E4971-9906-47CE-9C77-E08D97D84F8AWhat is the good life? Everyone has a different answer for this question. I like to think of it as living in harmony with yourself. Forgiving all past mistakes and cleansing the soul. How many times in your life have in captured a double rainbow 🌈 with a camera? Does it mean something or is it a phenomenon of nature? I saw the rainbow and my mind and body seemed to relax. All is well, I told myself, life is good.

Pura Vida means the good life. I am retired and living over looking Lake Arenal. I am fortunate, I breathe fresh air, look at beauty everyday and write as often as possible. I changed my life and renewed my life’s philosophy. I eat freshly grown fruit and vegetables and lost one hundred pounds. I meditate, pray and thank God everyday for allowing me to live a new vigorous life.

I left Las Vegas after viewing a night with six murders. It seems that Las Vegas was getting out of hand and dangerous. I packed my bags and said this is not for me. I live a life of writing and planting my garden. Wouldn’t you like to smell fresh air? Be more relaxed and worry free? I am correcting my third novel and looking out at a fog covered lake. It is as if the lake disappeared in a matter of minutes. It is raining, it is the rain Forrest, it is the tail end of the rainy season and we had tons of rain. It is quiet; no dogs barking, no cars or trucks, just tranquility.

It is a good time to write or read. My new novel; The Chameleon Returns, is the sequel to The Man With a Limp. I hope you take a Chance and read one of my books. Is it cold where you live? Is the fire place going? I hope so! Work on enjoying the good life; make paradise where you are, live the good life! Pura Vida!

Check out the bookstore below, Thank You!

Revenge of the President

Lucky is not surprised the President arrived safely at the Cherry Farm. A plan was put into place the day Marc and Thomas intercepted the email from Cornel  Saunders, Vice President of the United States; it showed the time and date of the Presidents departure. No one else was privy to that appointment. The email to Congressman Thomas Swanson did not say where the President and his wife was going, only when he was leaving for a day to relax.

Why was it important for the Congressman to know? Why did the Vice President send the email? The only explanation is a conspiracy to murder the President. How many other people are involved in the conspiracy? Why did the Vice President need to eliminate Lucky and Jack?

The President had been uncomfortable with his administration. He felt uneasy with his people, especially with his close friend, Cornel  Saunders, who seems to be fighting against the President’s agenda; Curtailing the power of the Drug Manufacturers in the United States of America. President Alexander wished to control the cost of prescription medicine. The President felt a profit of five billion dollars a quarter was ridiculous. The President wanted to stop what he called the extortion of the American people. He proposed a commission to regulate the price of prescriptions: drug manufactures must supply the cost of each medicine; transport, production, distribution, and maintenance of the company. Bill, PRC 2019, will bring together a commission to start regulating the Drug Industry. One month ago the bill passed both houses to show support for the President. It was a strict mandate that the President introduces, and Congress surprised the President. The people were given a poll to establish the controls and show their feelings. An overwhelming eighty-eight percent of the people in the United States took the poll and expressed their opinions about the greed in the drug industry. The survey let the Congress know the people wanted change now. The President was to sign the bill when the assassination attempt occurred.

Six months before the assassination attempt Lucky receives a phone call from Curt Carlyle. Curt believes the President is in danger and wants Lucky’s team to investigate. He wants Thomas to crack the computer firewall at the White House. Curt wants all emails checked for treasonous activity. No one is exempt; not the Vice President, everyone is under suspicion. Curt is following his investigation with his Secret Service people.  A Superior Court Judge is notified by the President to give Curt subpoenas and warrants for the evasion of White House email. Judge Andrews is asked to keep quiet about the warrants. The President told him his situation, and the judge agreed to cooperate to save his President. The personnel checks and interrogation of low-level employees began. Curt is hoping someone overheard of a plot against the President; praying for a small mistake, a clue of a conspiracy. Mark from the FBI is asked to help Thomas. They work well together and are hard to stop. Two months go by, and the duo cannot crack the firewall. The White House has the most stringent computer security in the world. Thomas was sending an email to the White House, to the President when the Vice President accidentally sent an email to Thomas informing the Congressman of the Presidents agenda. The Vice President’s plan to assassinate the President. It was a simple error; the Vice President sent it to tswenson@aol.com instead of tswanson@aol.com. Thomas told Lucky about the mistake and sent it to the right email address so the Congressman would receive it.

The Lake

IMG_3219Mornings are beautiful in San Luis, Costa Rica. This picture is from La Mission in Arenal. It is a great sunset looking from the outside dining area. As you can see, Costa Roca has it all; lots of green, great sunsets and sunrises, and in this part of the country great weather. I live in San Luis and have a great view of Lake Arenal. If you are a writer, you cannot help but be inspired. The air is fresh, people are kind, and great vegetable markets.

When I first arrived in Costa Rica, I had high blood pressure, a penchant towards Diabetes and a gloomy outlook in life and I took the plunge; I bought property and never looked back. No more worries about life, no Diabetes, or high blood pressure. Isn’t that what living is about? No stress, plenty of exercise, and something to look forward too-Living Pura Vida!

I have written eight books since dropping my feet on the Costa Rican rich black soil. My imagination is inspired by the people and the freshness in the air. Yes it rains a lot, but the temperature here is mild. It never gets colder than fifty-eight degrees or no hotter than ninety-one (only trice), it is usually below eighty-six degrees. Pura Vida! It has everything; inexpensive groceries and a healthy living. Cars and Gasoline are expensive; five to six dollars a gallon for gas and a car Twenty-five years old cost four thousand dollars.

Corina and I like  our cabin overlooking Lake Arenal. It is quiet, a comfortable place to live where you never hear of murder, or mass killings. My kind of comfort, Pura Vida!

Living

“Crying Inside
She held my hand tight
She knew something was not right
We continued our walk
I was not ready to talk

Money was tight
I was crying inside
I lost my job
I feel myself being robbed

My life is upside down
My house is foreclosure bound
Two years to pay off the contract
My house was the first one in the tract

The corporation closed its doors
After a bitter take over war
Lost my pension as it erupted
They did fine; they bankrupted

I am crying inside
My family and I will survive
Will the bank forgive my loan?
Can I save my home?

The government saved the banks
Who do I have to thank?
I am crying inside”

Living in San Luis, Costa Rica

Buenos Días! Good Morning! 😃Please forgive me, but my hot spot is not strong enough to down load a picture. I have a beautiful sunrise to show you, but it will have to wait for electricity and WiFi to be established into the new house.I feel very fortunate to live in the mountains of San Luis, Tilaran, Costa Rica 🇨🇷. Every morning I wake to beautiful sounds of birds chirping and the monkeys howling at passing by trucks. Few large trucks drive by at five in the morning and we are blessed with nature’s quiet sounds.

The sunrise is spectacular and when I can download a picture I will show you my vision every morning. It is the first day of no morning rain ☔️ and the skies are beautifully blue as the morning sun shines on my face. At four in the morning the stars are bright and twinkling with a cool breeze. My morning shower was cool and refreshing because the water heater is too powerful for the generator. In a week we will have electricity and things will seem normal again as we continue the construction of our property.

My new book, The Chameleon Returns is ready for sale. It is the continuation of the McLaughlin Saga. Novel three, Charlie is in the correction stage;Because the WiFi is weak, I am having trouble editing the book. Looks like I need to drive to the Internet cafe in Tilaran for a few days.

I love the slow pace of San Luis and the little town of Tronadora. Small stores called tiendes to browse through and little seven-elevens called sodas to by grocery odds and ends. Lake Arenal looks gorgeous today;it is a cool morning and will be a lovely day. If you are interested;check out my bookstore below. Just press the links and have fun. Pura Vida!

Morning Reflections
In Costa Rica, I seem to reflect more
Especially in the early morn
As the rain softly taps on the window pane
Calling me awake this day

Bringing back memories
Those childhood remembrances of family
Playing basketball in the backyard
Chasing little brother around the yard

Sitting in the shade on hot summer days
Playing monopoly all day
Sipping on cool aid
Laughing as we play

I remember riding my bicycle down our rocky roads
Bouncing to and fro
Holding the handlebars tight
Bouncing up and down on the seat real high

Mom calling us with her whistle
Louder than the sound of a guided missile
Calling us from play
Lunch must be ready

The quiet nights with mom and dad
Watching television, we were Bonanza fans
Those days I wish to remember
Brining back loves ember

The rain pounds more loudly
The skies grays cloudy
Memories fade as the storm strengthen
Lightning and thunder cracking

Fondly, the memories fade
Until I awaken to another day”

Pura Vida!

IMG_3219Living the good life, Pura Vida is a life style worth learning how to live. I have lived in Costa Rica for four years and have become a temporary resident. I have a Costa Rican driver’s license and Drive very little. I bought property in San Luis, a small community ten minutes from Tilaran, Costa Rica. I watched the workers as they build our cabina over the course of one year. Costa Rican’s or Ticos as they like to be called are hard working people. My contractor uses very little heavy equipment and depends on shovels to do the excavation. To level the property we bought fourteen dump truck loads of black dirt. Rich in minerals to help our new plants and vegetable garden.

For that job we rented a tractor to excavate the top of the property. Wages are three to four dollars an hour for laborers and five dollars an hour for electricians and masons. I noticed that workers show very little self motivation. They wait to be told what to accomplish; No initiative to move forward on their own. One actually left the property on his own when he accomplished a task or ran out of material. He called the contractor saying he was going home because he had nothing to do.

Is it bad communication on the contractor or laziness on the worker? There is a lot to do on the property and an eager worker could easily find work to accomplish. The worker is good when he is given a task to accomplish. He is a good family man, likes to farm and grow things. He is good with his hands and is an accomplished electrician, mason and carpenter. I believe if more communication is used he will eagerly finish his tasks.

I watch the life style of the ticos; Many Jahova Witness halls, and Catholic Churches, Every town has a park for the families. Most ticos enjoy rice and beans, the national staple. Families work and play together; the ticos are laid back kind of people who are somewhat over sensitive in personality. They do not like to be told how to do their jobs and are resistant to change. There is a tendency to pout when they are asked to do the job in a different fashion. If you lose your temper with a tico, they walk away and nothing is accomplished. A business will ask you to leave if they think you are overbearing, unreasonable. I like the people of Costa Rica and I have learned how to control my temper if I feel resistance. What good is an unhappy worker and nothing gets accomplished? Yet, I expect a good job to be done.

I sit in my rental contemplating our move to San Luis, Costa Rica. We will make our third load of boxes to our cabina. I am eager to live the good life as I relax and look out at lake Arenal; Read a good book or write my novel. We will relax and build our own furniture, enjoy BBQ’s and have fun. Pura Vida! Crossroads
Two intersection actions in life
Places you crossed in the night
An emotional state that meet and collide
A decision that prevents you from hiding

The time to move on and forgive the past
Or a romance you wish to last
Decisions with no compromise
The crossroads you must decide

A permanency
A mental emergency
A desperate act of a confused mind
A depression that leave love ones behind
The cross roads of life

I am the wild man free
over the country from sea to sea.
I see mountains, hills, canyons and fields across the land,

Friendship

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Lulu and Lala

What is friendship? According to my Wikipedia:

Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between people.[1] Friendship is a stronger form of interpersonal bond than an association.

Although there are many forms of friendship, some of which may vary from place to place, certain characteristics are present in many types of such bonds. Such characteristics include affection; kindness, love, virtue, sympathy, empathy, honesty, altruism, loyalty, mutual understanding and compassion, enjoyment of each other’s company, trust, and the ability to be oneself, express one’s feelings to others, and make mistakes without fear of judgment from the friend.

I thought that Wikipedia has a wonderful explanation of what friendship is and how it can endure for years. I have friendships that are lasting thirty-forty-fifty years. I have many acquaintances, but few friends. My puppies 🐶 are true friends. I come home they are eager to see me, with their tails wagging and jumping on me to get affection. When we sit and relax, they want to sit on my lap, lick my face and hug me. When I need to reprimand them for doing something they were not supposed to do in order to protect them, they do not hide or hold it against me. They wag their tales and jump on my lap. Maybe it is asking for forgiveness or maybe a natural bond of loving dogs have to give. I talk to them constantly and the dogs follow me where I travel.

I can count on my hand my true friends. Those people who stuck by me when I made mistakes, maybe not treated them as well as they expected, but they forgave me my sins. When I made good money they had fun with me. When I had no money, they stuck by me. When I lost a brother they were there to sympathize with me. When my wife died they held my hand as my family did. I lost friends because when I was young I made terrible decisions that haunted me all my life, but my true friends hung in our relationship until I grew up. Did I hurt them at times? Yes, and I asked them for their forgiveness and they forgave me. I took care never to repeat my poor decisions and returned their loyalty with love.

Friendship is a bond, a kinship, a commaradire that flows through the years. An understanding you will be there in time of need. A sense of goodness, kindness and at times correcting ones behavior if it is doing harm. Going against the many when you see a friend in need. A friend makes mistakes that many may see as unforgivable, because they do not know the whole truth. You do and you go against what others think. You stand by your friend until the truth is revealed.

Charish your close friends and honor them with understanding, kindness and loyalty. Your rewards will be boundless. Like Lala and Lulu you friends will be there.

Chapter Seventeen
You are Not Forty Anymore
This last trip exhausted Lucky and Jack, it took two weeks to recover. The whole story did not come out to their wives. Individual portions of the trip, like
the warfare, fifty millimeters, eight gun bouts, etc.; Only the excitement of the voyage. Jack and Lucky are sitting in lucky’s office contemplating the future.
“You know we’re are not forty anymore,” says Jack.
“I know! I was tired after that voyage and made sure we flew home. I thought the pirate group would be smaller. Who knew the Don had almost thirty men? Maybe we should have called the maritime police first before we went to the cove,” Says Lucky.
“Fortunately, the cruise ship was small and under capacity; only eighty clients instead of two hundred or so. Thank god for off season, maybe that is why the Don took the ship,” Says Jack.
“We need to take on less difficult work or call it quits. It could have gone wrong and our friends hurt,” Says a weary Lucky.

Communication

This picture give me a sense of community, solidarity, and the idea of communication.

Monkey And Frog

She used her tokens in many ways
A brilliant idea on lonely days
She was creative in spicing our lives
she knew how to energize

She had a frog with spring loaded hands
which she would put on my night stand
in it’s hands was a love token
it said good for one hug

And a word need not be spoken
I would get into bed give her a gentle tug
I would give her a kiss and a gentle hug
in the morning when I was a sleep

She would get up and not make peep
Over to the vanity she would go
There was the monkey asking for a toll
In itʼs spring loaded hands was a token

Good for one kiss
No words were ever spoken
If you want a marriage to last
A simple monkey and frog is up for the task

Always freely give your kisses and hugs

Some people will say this is a corny Idea, but does it seem like A method was used to communicate? Communication is the art of expressing ones feelings and voice to another in order to enhance understanding. There was a time in our marriage, Marian and I were like islands far apart. Unable to communicate properly, working long hours, she had weekends off while I worked. Many nights I was home after she was in bed.

Too much work, too much parting after work took its toll on our marriage. I was the culprit and had to make changes in my life. Luckily Marian was an extraordinary Individual and changed my way of doing things. She was a proactive individual who saw through my loneliness ( I am sure she was lonely) and began to communicate with the use of those two stuff toys, the monkey and the frog. Soon my excesses slowed down as she asked for more of my time. Partying stopped, no more over drinking excuses like your asleep when I get home after work. I would come home at midnight and my wife would be asleep on our love seat. I would pick her up and take us to bed. Always she would say, “I love You”.

I would find sticky notes everywhere. In my car, on the refrigerator,(her favorite sticky note spot), in my underwear drawer, anywhere she would think I would look. Her skill to communicate in a positive fashion, kept our marriage alive. It made me want to be the same way. We began going out at night on her work days, on my days off; making sure I played golf without getting drunk. We began to enjoy our marriage of thirty-eight years.  Marian passed away at fifty-eight years old. My companion of forty-two years was gone. I thanked God for changing my attitude, or was it Marian who led the class?

If you love someone, you find away to have a better relationship. Pura Vida!

Star Wars

img_4388Let freedom ring! Sound  bells and let the world know we are adding a new service to the military. It will be a branch of the Air Force; The Space Rangers! Wait minute! Wasn’t that a TV SHOW? Did the Pentagon watch the series to get the idea that was thrown around when Ronald Reagan was the boss? We are trillions in debt and the government wants to add Space Cowboys to our already sizable debt. I can here Congress now: Do not worry General, we can cut food stamps, welfare, school lunches, social security, Obama Care, but we are not cutting out our candy machines.

Life is good knowing Stars Wars Inc is protecting the universe. We do need our satellites with the stars. Could you imagine a country blowing out an ATT, or Comcast Satellite; the riots would really begin. I will go back to my writing, the Government is tiring out my mind and body with their new schemes. Maybe congress should make a special election,(like Obama Care that was thrown down  our throats even though we did not want it), let the people decide. That would be a new concept, wouldn’t it?

Law suits everywhere! Spending money to stop the Ruskies at every turn. Impeach the President, jail this judge, oversite committee  for this and that so congress looks to protectAmerica’s interest as long as a lobbiest has the pay off. Ain’t life grand? Back in Costa Rica I relax and write and pray my country will be alright. Has common sense left the barn? We will see, Hey Harrison Ford, you may get a job offer.

Until next time, read a good book. Interested? Push the links below for my bookstores. Pura Vida!

“New Year

How do you plan?
When the world is in a hot frying pan?
Chaos in Iran, attacking Iraq,
Breaking all international pacts.

Terrorist in Saudi and Afghanistan,
Terrorist in Yemen waiting to join the band;
Fiat currency being devalued,
Stocks and bonds have no value.

Foreclosures throughout the nation,
Joblessness causing exasperation,
Homeless eating out of the trash,
The world heading to economic collapse.

How do you see the future?
How do you sift through all the manure?
The stench of politics making you angry
As you get economically buried.

Sit down and have a beer.
Hold your loved ones close and near.
Forget the government has a plan.
Depend on your mind and make a stand.

Search the world,
Find your pearl,
Where you can live inexpensively;
Carry your social security

“Spend ten dollars for dinner,
Have doctors who are givers,
Rent at three hundred dollars;
A government that is not a bother.

Try Chile, Ecuador, Costa Rica.”

Facebook

IMG_3219I love sunsets! This particular sunset is the back of los Bristos in the la Mission Hotel in Arenal, Costa Rica. Forgive me if I misspelled the location, but I am having difficulty with my search because the WiFi is weak when it is raining and it is a big storm this afternoon, lightning and thunder. This photo makes me relax and gives me perspective. Right now, I am disenchanted with Facebook. Too much hate, opinions and politics.

I moved to Costa Rica for peace and tranquility. In Las Vegas there are three to four deaths a night. Politics are raging and the parties  dragged it into Facebook. I go out to a gringo breakfast and people want to talk politics. What ever happened to, How is your day? What do you do to keep busy? Guess what, I stopped going to the breakfasts because you can take politics where the sun does not shine. Oops 😬

I am tired with the same old hate rhetoric. I am tired of one party bad mouthing the other party. That is what you get on Facebook and it overflows into your daily life. Everyone has an opinion of our President; especially those people who said they would move from The USA if he got elected. None of them backed up their big mouths; I guess the money is too good. Well, I did move out of the states for peace and quiet 🤫 and Facebook will not give it to me.

I have a big decision to make since I advertise my books on Facebook; should I stay or should I go? What do you think? Press the link below for my bookstore:

The Man with a Limp
It is a cold winter morning in Santa Cruz, California. It is windy, rainy and no one is at the beach. A lone man, about twenty-four years old is walking with a six-foot bamboo walking stick. He is wearing a rain poncho, a rain hat, and rubber boots. He has thick long black hair down to his shoulders and a massive long black beard hanging down to the middle of his chest. He walks with a limp on the left side. His hand is curled up, and his left arm hangs down, appearing to be a useless appendage. He is smiling; it is obvious he likes to walk in the rain. With him, as he walks is a large German Shepard who has scars on its face and a large scar on his chest. I own a restaurant on the beach called “The Santa Cruz Experience.” It is an inexpensive diner with the usual Santa Cruz decor: surfboards and surfing pictures hang on the walls and a Harley Davidson motorcycle setting inside to the right, by the front door. I like to ride. My name is Jack.

Is this the way of the world?

IMG_3904I believe a rainbow is one of the most beautiful, relaxing escapes of nature. After a heavy rainstorm I look forward to looking at a rainbow and feel disappointed when it does not appear. Lately it seems like the world needs a few extra rainbows. I am ready to chuck my Facebook pages and become a hermit. I cannot believe the promotion of negative politics, hate, racism, call to action to cause riots and wars. What have we become in our society today when an actress thinks she can cause havoc with our country? Do not people think for themselves or are they guided like the pied piper syndrome? Listen to my music and follow me to hell. How do those shows exist in our society that promote attacks on celebrities in an orchestrated attack to make money? Why did not the celebrity stand up and walk away instead of listening to that tirade? By the way the comedian looked ridiculously hateful.

What do you think? I am tired of excerpts being cut from interviews to bend a point of view. Do you feel the same as I do? What people do not understand is the power of kindness, understanding, and the ability to sift through all the BS. Do I have to spell it out? In order to eliminate hate, prejudice, and anger in the world, you cut the head off the snakes. Those who promote hate within their race are wrong! Period, do not give them a forum to speak. Cut off their beloved program, stop electing hate promoters who promise something for nothing and never deliver.

FB is a great media platform, but I am tired of people promoting negative  👎 stories. I hate politics, because it is a platform to promote negativity. Where are the Mr. Smith’s in Washington that promote a moral agenda? Those people who wish to help our country, not tear it down. When was the last time you saw a news program that showed a young black boy running into a burning apartment to save an elderly white woman who is trapped? A white man pulling an Asian man from a horrible car accident and giving him CPR and saving his life. No, news needs to show how people are murdered everyday in Las Vegas, Detroit Michigan, or New Orleans, Louisiana. Have we become that cullused and disingenuous in our nature that we do not like stories with rainbows?

Fell from the Sky

Angel, you fell from the sky.
You felt my sorrow; you heard my cry.
You touched my shoulder, and I was not alone.
In time of death, the angel shows,

“Show the way through the light.
Show me to my husband’s flight.
Bring me to my family and friends.
Do not desert me at the end.

I led a good life, raised my family well.
Eighty-nine years is quite a spell:
Seen a world war and two police actions,
Saw polio vaccinations have a positive reaction,

Outlived my husband and three sisters,
Independence with no assistance.
Three daughters live close by,
Children I can rely.

Angel, you fell from the sky.
You felt my sorrow, heard my cry
You touched my shoulder, and I was not alone.
A little more time, I am not ready to go.
Thank you, angel.”

Costa Rica

838233F7-0DF4-4240-B9D8-D5660421408EPura Vida! Goes without saying; it is a way of life, the good life. Last year the man in the cart passed away after a long life. It is a causal life of cattle, chickens, horses and goats that line the Caminó. Any given day you could be driving highway one forty -two with its many curves, and need to stop as the ranchers are changing pastures for the cows and bulls to eat. Cattle are always grazing alongside the road. A car will drive by and flash its lights to warn you of a couple of loose horses or cows are in the middle of the road, beware.

The Man in the picture, in the cart was a neighbor I never met, but I regularly saw his son, a furniture maker of good quality, who  receives good prices for his cabinets, tables or chairs. He will make any kind of furniture with the type of Costa Rican wood you prefer: Laurel,Guanacaste,Cedro,Caobilla,Níspero de montaña; all fabulous madera (wood) that would make exquisite furniture. I am making a bed in cedro, which is a cedar woood. The man in the picture was riding to Nuevo Arenal, ten minute drive to the heart of the small town. Costa Rican’s are big with parades on holidays. Every year the town includes the local horsemen in their parades. One year they road past our house on our dirt road, ten feet from my house. I thought it was awesome the way the dancing horses performed as they would stop and show us their riding skills.

My favorite part of living in Costa Rica is the early morning sounds of the birds and monkeys. At four-thirty in the morning the yellow breasted birds a singing. Six-thirty the monkeys bark as some early morning delivery trucks make a racket the monkeys do not like. The dogs are searching  the garbage for food. We have an abundance of stranded  dogs; You want one?

I like to write in the early morning hours as My girlfriend is sleeping. It is very peaceful as I write and look out at Lake Arenal. It is rainy season and it came early. Major hurricanes in the Caribbean, Atlantic, and Pacific Oceans. We usually get the aftermath of those storms. I was told we are having January type weather in July; very heavy rain , days at a time. Last night it rained all night with high winds knocking fruit off the mango trees and pounding on the roof of our small house. We listen to the weather station for road closures as the hillsides tend to cause landslides that take hours to clear. We wait for clearing skies before we traverse out this time of year. I love the smell of rain after the storms. You can smell the green clean invirionment. I do see progress coming to Quanacaste Province, but I hope the government keeps it under controll. I wake up to freshness, no stale smell of too many cars, trucks and industry.

I very seldom travel out of my area; maybe a ride to Liberia for the airport, or electronics. It is an hour and a half away from Aguacate. I never go to San Jose, it is too crowded for me. I left smog and traffic in the States and like the peace and quiet of Costa Rica. Las Vegas, my house had commercial planes flying over it every two minutes. I never hear a plane in Aquacate. A large truck a couple of times a day or a cow mooing. Crime is non existent; a man was found dead in San Jose, the only murder in Costa Rica this year. Las Vegas had murders every night and you wonder why I moved to Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is not for everyone. Good, I do not like a large population, I do not get lonely. There is too much to accomplish here. I am almost done with my little Cabina and hope to move in by September. Pura Vida! Find your good life! Thanks! Press the link below for my bookstores.

i am all alone in our favorite town
i walk the beach trying not to frown
working at being alive is a difficult task
I wear different types of mask

still avoiding the human race
no cell phone or tv
just a book for me to read

I sit outside at the Moonlight Grill
as the sun set it made life feel real

i miss your sunset eyes
the blue and orange of the sunset skies
i want to wake up with the morning dew
feeling i was the best for you

look down on me and smile
know that I will be with you in a little while
I want the world to know
that that you own my soul

i love you”
